XP Progression and Brits Broken Pickaxe

Did I read correctly? Is Brits Broken Pickaxe REQUIRED for progress in the three Quartermaster quests for stone, sulfur, and metal?

No. Been doing it mostly without it :) All the way to T5 :)

@Stormy re "Been doing it" This question is about V.2, which you couldn't have "Been doing" since it isn't out yet. Open the "Guides" tab and scroll down and click "Progression and Levels". Scroll down to the Stone/Sulfur/Metal Quartermater Quest and read the first paragraph.

Right? I've gone over a week before I was able to buy one from the Market, and have gone entire wipes without finding one. Does anyone know if drop rates have been adjusted, or have suggestions on the best ways to locate this item? This is going to drive the sell price way up, and make it even more difficult to purchase, I'm afraid. They're always touting these Quartermaster quests as the best way to level. Good luck, friends.

Asked in donators chat and got this from a "Helper" : Mr. Yellow [BRIT], Rolleikon, Community Helper — 15:29 im sure there are a lot of changes that will need to be discovered, this being one of them. 🙂 I believe that the pickaxe is required this time. Why we all have to find out about these big changes like this, I dont know. And what about everyone not reading this. Looking forward to the Wipe announcement. Must be a long one with all these changes... Thank you for discovering, asking and sharing!

Yeah, I watched the V.2 launch video, and must have paused and backed up more than a dozen times, looking at the changes at the end. I ran into brit a week ago on the new server. He was so excited to show me different features of the server. We couldn't get anywhere further than a grid at a time because he kept getting excited about things he was seeing along the way. I honestly don't recall what he was initially going to show me(we never made it ther), but being able to witness his excitement was thrilling and infectious.
